The individual who installed stated piece of cake, I do not work on computers so why ease of installation is stated for someone who would mess up the computer, he had to download some software he had to make it connect but process tool about an hout and now Ihave a computer hooked to my DSL.
Acts as a redudent link on a file server in my house. Good low profile network card, easy to install.
Will keep this for a spare. Most don't. I only used this for a couple of days before upgrading to a gigabit card, but I had no issues installing or with operation. Very nice that it came with WOL cable.
This was $13 well spent. XP recognized the card, it worked immediately out of the box with little or no setup, and all internet connections seem to work a bit faster now. My wife was having network problems with her Dell Desktop computer running Windows XP. After trying all the various network set-up changes to no avail I installed this card and shut off the internal network interface.
I found this NIC and it was a good price ($0.97). I recently obtained a hard driveless, nicless pc. Debian (Lenny - Testing) found it immediately like Linux does with most hardware and it worked fine. I accidently ordered two, but the price was so low I didn't notice.Installation was easy, just put it in the PCI slot and put the screw back. (Also, no power cables or anything). I needed a NIC for it (as its original was removed).
